  12.                  Wallpaper Manager Version 2.85 Changes
  13.  
  14. This version of Wallpaper Manager (2.85) corrects some compatibility
  15. problems in the previous build that prevented it running properly under
  16. Windows 95. It also adds improved support for long filenames, 3D style
  17. dialogs, and use of the registry for initialization settings. Other
  18. minor improvements include faster redisplay in some situations and the
  19. ability to set Tiled/Centered mode on groups of files using the
  20. Organize dialog.

  23.                        INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

  26.                         First Time Installation
  27.  
  28. 1. Place the Wallpaper Manager Plus diskette in your floppy disk drive.
  29.  
  30. 2. Select File/Run in the Program Manager's menu (NT) or
  31. Start/Run (Windows 95).
  32.  
  33. 3. Type a:\setup in the Command Line box then click OK (or b:\setup if 
  34. you are using floppy drive B:).
  35.  
  36. 4. Click Install in the Setup program menu to begin installation. 
  37. Click Help for more information about the installation process.

  39.                          Upgrade Installation
  40.  
  41.   If you are upgrading from a version of Wallpaper Manager previous to
  42. v2.50:
  43.  
  44. 1. You should manually delete all the old Wallpaper Manager program 
  45. files except your original WALL.INI and any galleries you have created.
  46.  
  47. 2. Create a new directory to hold the new version of Wallpaper Manager 
  48. Plus you will be installing, e.g., C:\WALL.
  49.  
  50. 3. Copy your original WALL.INI file to this directory.
  51.  
  52. 4. Start the Wallpaper Manager Plus Setup program as described above. 
  53. Specify the new directory you have created in step 2 as the 
  54. installation directory.
  55.  
  56.         If you are upgrading from v2.50 or later:
  57.  
  58. 1. Start Setup as described above. Specify your current Wallpaper 
  59. Manager directory as the installation directory. Setup will upgrade 
  60. your copy while preserving your the settings in your current WALL.INI
  61. and WALL.GAL.

  65.   CHANGES SETUP AND WALLPAPER MANAGER MAKE TO YOUR WINDOWS SYSTEM
  66.  
  67. Files: Setup copies the Wallpaper Manager files to the hard disk 
  68. directory you specify in the Install dialog. The Help/Uninstall menu 
  69. option in Wallpaper Manager will delete all and only these files and 
  70. the Wallpaper Manager directory provided it is empty following the 
  71. deletion.

  73. WIN.INI: (Windows 95 Only) Setup and Wallpaper Manager may modify the
  74. load= line in the [windows] section if you enable Autostart. Any change
  75. is undone if you Uninstall. Wallpaper Manager also changes the wallpaper=
  76. line in the [desktop] section during regular operation. If you Uninstall
  77. and the current wallpaper is not in BMP, DIB, or RLE format then this line 
  78. will be set to null otherwise it is unchanged.

  80. N.B. Under Windows NT these changes are made to the Registry.
  81.  
  82. SYSTEM.INI: No changes.
  83.  
  84. AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS: No changes.
  85.  
  86. REGISTRY: Settings formerly stored in WALL.INI is now stored in the
  87. system Registry. These settings are removed if you Uninstall Wallpaper
  88. Manager.

  90. Program Items and Groups: Setup creates a Wallpaper Manager Plus 
  91. program group containing a WallPlus program item that you can use to 
  92. launch Wallpaper Manager and a WM+ ReadMe file icon that will display 
  93. this file in your default editor (usually Windows Notepad). Uninstall 
  94. does not delete the items or the group.

  198. needed during installation.
